SAN DIEGO FAMILY TRIP
Southern California is one of our absolute favorite places to visit. It doesn’t matter what time of year or what activity we’re planning to do, we can almost always make it happen in SoCal. This is also the only other place Archer has declared as an option as our next home if we should ever move from Florida—don’t worry, we’re not moving.
Balboa Park
San Diego Museum of Art - amazing! We loved their integration of Augmented Reality that literally / digitally brought the paintings to life!
Fleet Science Museum - a big hit with our future astronaut! But, was not as interactive as other museums in the park.
Museum of Man - had an exhibit on cannibals while we were there that was super interesting to discuss with the kiddos
Spanish Village - perfect for our artist-in-training. Meet local artists in a vibrant village atmosphere
Natural History Museum
Botanical Building
International Cottages
La Jolla
In case you forget how close San Diego is to the Mexican border (hint: it’s 20 miles to Tijuana), La Jolla is actually pronounced La HOY-ah. It’s less touristy than some of the other areas and home to seals and sea lions that are super fun to watch. We hiked down and got close enough to watch a couple “yelling” at each other.
San Diego Zoo
Growing up in Memphis, we are not easily impressed by a zoo. Honestly, we usually avoid them because many are sad or profit-driven. This is not that. We learned so much about such a wide variety of animals it is easy to see how one could spend days exploring the San Diego Zoo.
